Apple iPhone 17 Series: If you are thinking of buying iPhone 17, then a big political decision can be overshadowed on your pocket. US President Donald Trump has announced a 25% additional fee on some goods imported from India, causing the total tariff to reach 50%. The reason for this decision has been said by India to continue the purchase of oil from Russia, due to which America is angry.
Will iPhone prices rise?
At present, this new tariff has not been implemented on iPhones. But the US administration is now reviewing the list of products on which this fee will be imposed and smartphones may also join that list soon. If this happens, the prices of iPhone can increase from $ 50 to $ 300. Apple itself can reduce this increased burden slightly but the entire cost is sure to reach the customers.
Why do iPhones are made in India?
Apple had previously started construction in India by removing production from China to avoid China-US trade war and keep the supply chain safe. India, especially the base model, was playing an important role in the creation of iPhones which are sold in America. But now India is also on the target of American tariff, which can shock Apple’s strategy.
Apple’s new plan
To handle the situation, Apple has announced to invest $ 100 billion in the US. It also includes the expansion of the glass factory located in Kentki which will now make glass for iPhones and Apple Watch around the world. This step is being considered by Apple to satisfy the US government and avoid future tariffs.
What can happen next?
If the smartphone is out of the tariff, then the price of iPhone 17 can be normal. If the tariff is applied, it is possible to increase prices by the end of this year. Apple is now accelerating the process of manufacturing in Vietnam and America so that such shocks can be avoided in future.
