Starlink India: Elon Musk’s company SpaceX’s satellite internet project Starlink has finally released the official prices of its residential plans in India. After long-running approvals and testing, the company is now preparing to provide high-speed internet in those areas of the country where even today broadband connections are not available properly.

What is the monthly price and what features will be available?

The details of the residential plan have been updated on the Indian website of Starlink. The monthly price of the service has been kept at Rs 8,600. The one-time cost of the hardware kit required to run the internet is Rs 34,000. Users get unlimited data and also a 30-day trial so that they can test the connection quality for themselves.

The company claims that Starlink operates stably in all weather conditions and the system is designed to provide more than 99.9% uptime. Installation is also very easy, just plug in and internet is on. This plan can be very useful especially for those rural and remote areas where even today fiber or broadband network has not reached.

Suspense still remains on business plan

Starlink has currently shared only residential prices. Business tier information has not been given. It is expected that the company will also reveal its commercial plans and prices in the coming few weeks as important talks with government agencies are still going on for this.

Preparations for Starlink are increasing rapidly in India

The seriousness of the company’s entry into India is clearly visible from its recent hiring. At the end of October, SpaceX had recruited several posts for the Bengaluru office, which included roles like Payments Manager, Accounting Manager, Senior Treasury Analyst and Tax Manager.

This hiring clearly indicates that Starlink is planning to expand its operations in India in a big way. It has been said in many reports that the company can also set up ground stations in different cities of the country so that the network can be further strengthened.

Recently in a conversation with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamat, Elon Musk said that Starlink is expanding rapidly across the world and India is one of the most important markets for them.
