Instagram new features: Keeping in mind the safety of young users in India, META has made some important changes in Instagram. Now two new security facilities related to direct messages (DM) have been added for teenagers on Instagram. Now if a teenager starts chatting with someone, even if both follow each other, then Instagram will show a safety tip. In this, the user will be advised to check the profile of the front carefully and will be asked to be vigilant that if anything is suspected, do not share any information.
Now the date for the account will be seen
Instagram will now show when the account of the front user was created on the top of the chat box (month and year). This will make it easier for teenagers to identify fake or deceitful accounts.
“Block and Report” facility to simultaneously
META has now added a new option to block a user in a single step without any hassle. Earlier these two works had to be done separately. This will help the youth to get out of uncomfortable experience quickly and effectively.
Now more strictness on children’s account
Instagram accounts that are being run by their parents or managers in the name of children (younger than 13 years) will now get the most strict security settings of Instagram by default. These include:
- More control over message controls
- “Hidden Words” filter to stop abuses
- Safety alert on the top of Instagram feed
- META has made it clear that if any such account is found running the child itself, then that account will be removed.
Special attention to India’s Uva users
India is one of the biggest markets of Instagram, and that is why META has taken these steps regarding online security of teenagers. As the participation of youth on social media is increasing, these features will help Indian families to give safe experience in the digital world.
