Bytebreaker claims that he has collected this information by taking advantage of the flaw in a Facebook feature. However, some cyber experts believe that they may not have such a big data.

On the other hand, META (Facebook’s parent company) has clarified that it is not a new data breech but an old data leak in 2021, in which about 50 crore users were affected.

The technique that is being mentioned in this incident is called web scrapping. This is an automated process in which a large amount of information is extracted from a website with the help of boats. In easy language, it is like copy-paste in a way, but through machines. According to the report, the identity of any user can be easily revealed by the leaked data.

It is not clear that the leaked data is connected to the users of which countries, but countries with big Facebook users like India cannot be untouched by it. Cyber experts suggest to change your Facebook password immediately. If bank details are connected to Facebook account, then turn on fraud alert. Change the password of your bank account as well.

Meta has said that the data that is being talked about was already leaked in 2021 and no new leak has been made now. But if the talk of Bytebreaker is right, then this social media can prove to be the biggest data theft in history.

Experts have advised users to remain alert and take cyber security steps in time. The biggest weapon is to be cautious in this era of data security.
