Smallest Drone: Today’s wars are not fought only with guns and missiles. Now a new and invisible weapon has entered the battlefield, the micro drone. They are so small that they can easily fit on your palm, but their strength and technology is capable of challenging even the biggest weapons.

What is a micro drone?

Micro drone is a small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or aircraft without a pilot. Its weight ranges from a few hundred grams to about two kilograms. They are equipped with high-tech cameras, sensors and small motors, due to which they can fly at high altitudes for surveillance, photo and video recording and keep an eye on enemy activities.

These have been specially designed for reconnaissance (espionage), surveillance (surveillance) and intelligence (information gathering) missions. They silently enter the enemy’s territory and gather information about his position, movement and defense system.

When hundreds of micro drones become an army

When many micro drones fly together on a mission, they are called Swarm Drones. Together they can attack the enemy together or collect every small and big information about the area.

Their small size makes them virtually invisible to radar and conventional defense systems. For this reason, micro and swarm drones are being counted among the most dangerous weapons of the future.

Growing military role of micro drones

Almost all big countries like America, Russia, China, Turkey, Iran and Israel have now included micro drones in their military systems. Earlier they were used only for surveillance, but now they are also playing an important role in carrying out attacks.

Recently, Russia targeted the electricity grid in Ukraine with a drone attack, due to which the entire area was plunged into darkness. Such attacks are called “Death Swarms” because they are almost impossible to stop.

How does the Swarm Drone system work?

Swarm Drones are completely controlled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computer networks. Each drone is interconnected, making the entire swarm work like a living system.

First the mission plan is prepared and then all the drones fly together. With the help of their sensors and cameras they identify targets and attack or transmit information when necessary.

Even if one drone is destroyed in a mission, the remaining drones automatically continue the mission. This technology is going to completely change the direction and strategy of war in the coming times.
